so after last week's horrendous snowstorm in nashville that caused traffic up the wazoo (it took some of my coworkers up to 4 hours to get home... yikes!), it is now officially GORGEOUS. it is so sunny outside and it's about 60ish degrees... ughhhhh LOVIN IT. this beautiful weather just makes me want to go outside and lay in a park and just be. makes me happy :o)
the gorgeous weather has also got me thinking about things i want to do this next summer. i feel like this summer's going to be the first summer where i'll be able to do things almost freely due to the fact that i've saved up some moolah this past year and due to the fact that i do not have any work obligations on weekends. last summer, i still had the bar to think about and to schedule around. this year, i hope to be a little more adventurous and take weekend trips places. besides for visiting friends all around the country (oklahoma, dc, new york, la, michigan, to name a few) i also want to go to chattanooga, which i hear has a bomb ass aquarium. i also want to go to atlanta at least a couple times. not only for a couple of braves game but to go shopping and to just see their night life. i also wouldnt mind going to st louis, new orleans, or north carolina, and even maybe chicago.
not only do i want to travel, but i also want to enjoy this city. i feel like i say this every year and every year i really don't take advantage of where i'm at. i want to enjoy being outside and enjoy going to the lake, going hiking, and even making a trip to the smoky mountains and do a little hiking, maybe even camp out. it's no yosemite but i'm sure it's awfully close. i also just want to enjoy the little hole in the wall places here, the bookstores, coffee shops, diners, etc. i want to plan for weekends and look forward to them.
yes i want to be busy outside and doing things in the city, but i know there are going to be those times when i want to be at home. heretotherefore... i really want to create a space in my home that i can feel creative. i want to get a desk and an area in my room that i can plan projects for myself. not only will these projects be for my enjoyment, but i really hope that i can also create projects that will further my career. i want to create a website for myself that really showcases what i can do as an editor.
although im lovin nashville now, i know i'm not going to be here forever. i want to enjoy the southeast while i'm here and take advantage of the fact that i'm young and single and able to do what i enjoy doing most without any reservation... because it's very likely that i won't be back once i leave.
